A Farewell to Ted Kennedy by Faye Snider

That night
as the bold, orange
crescent moon
hovered low
in the pitch-black sky,
he breathed
his very last
breath .

His fiery spirit,
released,
soared alongside
the waning moon,
rose into daybreak 
on the other side.
